Hey everyone!
Can't believe it's almost that time of year again! Christmas is just around the corner and we're getting our ideas together for our upcoming show on December 18th at Greenfields Pub and Eatery in Barrhaven! We are hosting A Blackwell Christmas party with our fellow musician friends from all over the valley including Wayne Rostad and Gail Gavan. It is going to be so much fun and we hope that you can come and enjoy the night with us! We have also written a new Christmas song, inspired by the annual Light Up The Night Show, and we are excited to perform it on December 2nd on CFRA radio and at the show itself that same evening in Almonte!
Stay tuned on CFRA to hear us and our new song :)

Recordingggggg
Hey ya'lll.......
We've been working really hard over these past few weeks on the beginning of our recording journey. In the last blog we told ya that we were working on one of Carey's beautiful creations, a slow tearjerker called "Every Tear"... NOW, we're working on what was originally written as a Christian song and is still a Christian song, called "Something To Believe In". We're all Christians and we believe that God has put us here to make music and to share it with the world. It's an incredible feeling when a song can be written that can relate to so many people maybe going through the same thing or having the same questions or thoughts... "Something To Believe In" is one of those songs that you can listen to and feel inspired ( we think that anyway, haha) and it's not a biased opinion in the least... we can't wait for this album to come out so we can share it with you.
Our recording journey will continue this coming week when we record our newest version of "Betsy", carey's infamous song he wrote about a cow that was abducted by aliens. Yes, for those of you who have already heard this song, its fun and random and just one of those country songs that makes you wanna get up and dance!
Anyway we will check in with you in a week or so!
Take care and don't forget to turn your clocks back tonight!!!

Hey! It's November 1st!
Hey readers!
SoOoOoOo we have been swamped lately with all sorts of things going on, but all GOOD things! Right now we are in the studio getting our vocals done for our upcoming album. It's a new experience for all of us to be in the studio together as opposed to being on stage... learning all about our different styles of singing and bringing all of our ideas together to make music that reflects all of us. There's nothing better than working as a team with not only your friends but your bandmates, making music that everyone can relate to. Through the saddest of songs, there is a healing within yourself as you sing it, and produce it... but the healing is hopefully also within the listeners who can understand and feel the message we are trying to send. Carey has re-produced a beautiful ballad called " Every Tear" and we have been finalizing the vocals on that particular song recently. It's what we love to call a tear-jerker and it evokes a lot of emotion in us when we sing it together.
ALSO, we are preparing a few Christmas tunes ( yes everyone, Christmas is only a Month and a bit away... we're just getting over Thanksgiving!!!) for the Christmas Cheer Broadcast on CFRA on Friday December 2nd and Light Up The Night in Almonte on the 2nd of December as well, in the evening. There seems to be so many things that we need to accomplish with what seems to be so little time but hey, as a wise woman once said, " JUST ROLL WITH IT BABY!"
We have some upcoming gigs soon, which we would love to see you attend! We are playing at the Royal Oak on March Road in Kanata on November 12th ( 9pm-1am), and on the 19th we are Live at the Royal Oak in Barrhaven (9pm-1am). Come on out and support us and have a few drinks!!!
Till next time,
BLACKWELL BAND
